SE 2nd Street Sidewalk Project
As part of the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (MPO) County wide mobility plan which was previously approved by City Commission, sidewalk installation along both sides of SE 2nd St between US 1 and SE 11th Ave will begin May 22, 2019 with an anticipated completion of October 18, 2019. Both sides of SE 2nd will be completed simultaneously one block at a time, starting from US 1 and progressing west. Please note that SE 2nd St will be open for Local Traffic Only, Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM; and either detours or flagging operations will be implemented to re-route traffic through side streets while the sidewalk improvements are completed to enhance safety during construction activities. The MPO is working with Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) contractor to complete the work. There will be coordination with each affected property to provide vehicle access in and out of driveways and public services should not be disrupted (mail delivery, trash pick-up, etc.). All disturbed areas such as irrigation and sod will be properly restored. We appreciate your patience and support during this project. If you have any questions please contact the City Engineer, John Sfiropoulos at 954 545-7009.
